My Artists Statement
Art
__as a product and the process of making art are equally important to me regardless of definitions, descriptions or limitations.
Yet I have heard very different expressions over the years in as many different ways as there are people saying it, that the product, art, is the only thing that matters.
For me it is all a complex organism that I enjoy dissecting, the ways to make art, the inextricable relationships between materials and techniques, the resulting product and why it was made.
I am not so concerned by genre, niche, or subject as I am about beauty, intrigue, mystery or evocation.
I am motivated by knowing my work will provide a moment of solace or intrigue.
